Her Real Estate Career
I’ve been in real estate 21 years and with Moreland over 20 years. I used to comb through the paper every Sunday (less internet back then!) and start calling agents asking questions, going to open houses and the like. My husband finally said, “Just go get your real estate license!” so I did and have loved being in the business for the last 21 years!
Making an Impact in Austin
I am involved with Impact Austin—an incredible group of women that do due diligence on non-profits submitted for a grant from Impact Austin. They then follow up on each non-profit to make sure the money is being used for the stated purpose. They also have educational meetings as well as zone happy hours so you can get to know people in your area.
The Ideal Austin Weekend
My perfect weekend would include dinner with friends on Friday night (Sway, Wu Chow, Las Palomas or any of the amazing new restaurants in town) and a nice morning walk on Lady Bird Lake Trail on Saturday morning with breakfast afterwards at Texas Honey Ham Company or Counter Café. Saturday afternoons depend on what time of year it is. Football at The University of Texas, a visit to the lake house in Horseshoe Bay and playing with our grandkids at Cedar Creek Elementary playground come to mind. I love having dinner at our house on Saturday night with friends while my husband the Grill Master cooks something to perfection on the grill. I’ll go to church on Sunday morning at St. John Neumann Catholic Church and brunch afterwards at Zax Pints & Plates or Jack Allen’s.
A Property to Remember
1209 N. Weston Lane – A beautiful castle on Lake Austin! It was an amazing home for entertaining with plenty of room for family and guests, lush grounds and a boat dock and deck overlooking the lake. It was heavenly!
What Makes a House a Home
We do a lot of entertaining so an open floorplan is a must, otherwise everyone is in the kitchen!
